The Waterloo 15th Art Exhibition was organised in 2022 by Karen Evans. Karen has been a volunteer committee member for the Friends of Old Christ Church since 2008 and in past years has organised the The Waterloo Craft, Antique and Collectors fairs and also help organise The Waterloo flea market and Vintage Fair. Organising the Annual Art Exhibition was important to Karen as it was the first event she and her mum Shirley Evans (Deceased 2013) attend in 2007 selling their handmade cards and crafts. The 15th Waterloo Art Exhibition received over 500 hangings and over two weekends our visitors voted for what they thought was best in show. The winner of the best painting went to Norma Schofield with one of her entries called “Feathers” an Oil on Canvas, Norma received £100 prize. The best photographic entry was won by Emma Louise Hendry and Hayley Brennon who shared the £50 cash prize with their powerful collaboration called “Breathe” that won by a total landslide.

The proceeds from the art exhibition raffle 2022 was donated to RASA Merseyside an organisation based in Bootle that supports survivors of Rape and Sexual Abuse. (photograph below) We would like to thank all the entrants for the work submitted that made the 2022 exhibition a resounding success and thanks also to all our volunteers and visitors who make is all possible. We look forward to seeing what is in store for 2023 and hope you will all join us again for another outstanding exhibition. HISTORY OF THE WATERLOO ART EXHIBITION
The Waterloo art exhibition first organised in 2007 by Chairman John Bramham it is one of the first events The Friends of Old Christ Church hosted. In later years Marie Curtis took over the organisation in 2008 until sadly she died 11th March 2022. Marie will be remember for the valuable work she did as a volunteer committee member not only for the work she did for the art exhibition but for many other events she help with.
